App privacy
For the Rogeha Capture app. Last updated 18 October 2026. The website has its own policy on the Privacy page.
Rogeha Capture takes screenshots on Windows: a window, a region, a whole monitor, or a page that has to be scrolled, with an editor for highlights, boxes and numbered steps. It is made by Rogeha Studio. It has no account and no server of ours, and everything you capture stays on your PC. The only connection it makes is to this website, when you open its feature overview.

What the app stores, on your PC
Everything the app keeps stays on the PC:
- your screenshots, as PNG or JPEG files in the folder you choose in Settings (by default Pictures\Rogeha Capture). A file name starts with the name of the app you captured and the date and time, for example Google Chrome_2026-10-02_21-45-03.png. A screenshot shows whatever was on screen, so it can contain personal data: you decide what you capture, keep and share;
- the last screenshot on the Windows clipboard, if you leave Copy the image to the clipboard on. It stays there until something else is copied;
- your settings: the folder, the image format and quality, and the options you ticked;
- from version 2.0.9, the browser data of the feature overview window (WebView2's cache for this website), in the app's own folder;
- a short log of unexpected errors, with the technical details of what failed. It holds no screenshots and no keystrokes.
Windows features you control can copy some of this elsewhere. If your Pictures folder is backed up to OneDrive, or you save screenshots into a synced folder, the screenshots are uploaded under your Microsoft account. If you turned on clipboard history or clipboard sync in Windows, a copied screenshot can appear there too.
What leaves the PC
Nothing you capture, type or set. Rogeha Capture sends no screenshots, no keystrokes and no usage data, and has no advertising, no analytics and no crash reporting. Nothing is sold or passed on.
The one connection: from version 2.0.9, Feature overview in the tray menu loads Rogeha Capture's page from rogehastudio.com in a window of the app, only when you open it. Like any visit to a website, the request reaches the website's host with your IP address and the page asked for; the website's privacy policy says what happens to it. The page sets no cookies. Links to rogehastudio.com stay in that window; any other link opens in its usual app.
Three links in the app's About window open other programs: the support address starts a new email in your mail app, which is sent only if you send it, and Privacy policy and Impressum open this website in your browser.
If you install Rogeha Capture from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft's own privacy statement applies to the Store and to the installation.
What the app can see and do
- The keyboard, to notice Print Screen and Esc wherever you are, and from version 1.1 Windows+Shift+S, the shortcut a laptop's screen-snip key sends (you can turn that off in Settings). Every other key is passed straight on. Rogeha Capture does not record, store or send keystrokes.
- The screen, only when you start a capture. It freezes the screen so you can pick a window or region, and keeps only the part you choose. To name the file it reads the name of the app whose window you captured.
- The mouse wheel, only during a scrolling capture: it scrolls the window you picked and puts the pointer back where it was.
- Starting with Windows, which you can turn off in Rogeha Capture's Settings or in Windows Settings > Apps > Startup.
Like most Windows desktop apps, Rogeha Capture runs with full access to your user account so that it can capture any window. It uses that access only for the things listed here.
How long data is kept
- Screenshots: until you delete them. They are your files.
- The clipboard: until something else is copied.
- Settings, the error log and the feature overview's browser data: until you uninstall the app.
Deleting your data
Delete screenshots in File Explorer like any other file. Uninstalling the app removes its settings, error log and the feature overview's browser data; it leaves your screenshots in place. We hold no data about you, so there is nothing to delete on our side.
Your rights
You can ask what personal data about you is processed, and have it corrected or deleted. Write to support@rogehastudio.com. You can also turn to the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
Children
The app is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. The current version is always at this address.
